FIDE Trainers’ Seminar
Athens, 25-30.03.2014
A multiple event-festival is taking place in Athens during the period March 21st to April 6th. This festival, which is called ‘Chessnale’ (http://chessnale2014.chessdom.com), is focused in various chess events, as the Greek Men and Women Championships, Scholastic Championships, Blitz events, Simultaneous events, Theatre play, Arbiters’ seminar and many other chess-related activities. Of course it is obvious that a Trainers’ seminar should be on the spot as well!
FIDE is celebrating its 10 years in Athens (headquarters) and in cooperation with the European Chess Union (ECU), the FIDE Trainers’ Commission (TRG), the FIDE Women Commission (WOM), the Greek Chess Federation (ESO), the Union of Attica Chess Clubs (ESSNA), the Athens Mall and the Chessnale 2014, offered a relative trainers’ seminar.
The seminar was held March 25th to 30th, 2014 in one of the hugest Greek Malls (where also all other activities are held as well), the ‘Athens Mall’ (Marousi - http://www.themallathens.gr). In the seminar thirty-two Greek trainers participated. The Lecturer was GM/FST/IA/IO Efstratios Grivas (Greece), who is also the Secretary of the FIDE Trainers’ Commission. Here is the relative ‘proof’:
And of course, here are the Results of the participants (pdf).

And as it is customary, here is the ‘family’ photo:
Well, everything run smoothly and more or less everyone was happy to learn something more in training and obtaining certification on their level. Proper chess-training is a bit more difficult than it sounds and trainers have to improve their level…
And we do hope that the ‘Chessnale’ will be repeated year to year, as chess needs such kind of festivals where none chess-players will come together and meet our Royal Sport.
